Job Description:
Description Job Summary The Information Technology Support –
Tier I Technician provides frontline technical support to
physicians, nurses, clinical staff, and administrative personnel
across the organization. In a medical oncology environment, system
reliability is essential to patient care, and this role is critical
to maintaining uptime and resolving issues that may impact clinical
operations. This position supports a hosted Citrix environment,
Microsoft 365 applications, desktops, mobile devices, printers, and
clinic network infrastructure. This role requires strong
troubleshooting ability, responsive service, and a professional
approach to addressing technological issues that affect patient
care workflows. It also requires the ability to work efficiently in
a fast-paced healthcare setting, prioritize competing requests, and
deliver timely, high-quality technical support. Duties and
responsibilities Provides helpdesk support to physicians, nurses,
and staff via phone, remote support tools, email, and in-person
assistance Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to desktop
computers, laptops, printers, and office peripherals Supports users
accessing the hosted Citrix virtual desktop environment, ensuring
reliable connectivity and performance Provides support for
Microsoft 365 applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Teams,
and OneDrive Quickly diagnoses and resolves issues that may affect
clinical operations or patient care workflows Deploys, configures,
and maintains Windows desktop and laptop computers Installs and
configures software, operating system updates, and security patches
Provides remote technical support to clinic locations using remote
management tools Assists with computer deployments, workstation
replacements, and new user setups Troubleshoots network
connectivity issues involving workstations, printers, and mobile
devices Assists with installation and support of wired and wireless
networking equipment, including switches, access points, and
network cabling Configures and supports printers, label printers,
scanners, and clinical office equipment Supports smartphones and
mobile devices, including Apple iOS and Android platforms Maintains
accurate documentation of support requests, system configurations,
and troubleshooting procedures Tracks and maintains inventory of
computer hardware and software assets Escalates complex issues to
senior IT staff or third-party vendors when necessary Provides
basic user training and guidance on supported technology systems
Assists with maintaining system reliability and uptime across
clinic locations Supports clinic technology installations and
workstation setups during office expansions or relocations Performs

and Educational Requirement High school diploma or equivalent
required; bachelor’s degree preferred Technical diploma or degree
in computer technology preferred, with 1–3 years of experience, or
equivalent practical IT experience Demonstrated knowledge of
networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, and
wireless networking Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving
skills Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and provide
high-quality customer support Demonstrated ability to remain calm
and professional when responding to urgent clinical support issues
Demonstrated ability to prioritize support requests impacting
patient care and clinic operations Licensure and Certifications
Relevant IT certifications preferred (e.g., CompTIA A, Network,
Microsoft Fundamentals) Valid driver’s license required Working
conditions Works onsite in an office or clinical setting.
Emphasizes collaboration with various stakeholders. Necessitates
effective communication and teamwork. Functions in a fast-paced
environment. May require flexibility in working hours. Requires
adherence to safety protocols and compliance with healthcare
regulations. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for
travel between locations. Physical requirements Must be able to
lift 25 lbs. Must be able to sit, stand and walk for extended
periods of time. Must be able to bend, kneel, crawl and twist as
needed. Must be able to see, hear, type, and speak. Must be able to
reach and pull.
