Job Description Project Manager- Design and Engineering
Location: Phoenix Reports To: Sr. Director of Design and
Engineering Job Summary: The Project Manager will be responsible
for overseeing and coordinating projects related to the ABDG,
Yavapai, and BAU builds. This role requires effective collaboration
with multiple departments, management of vendors, and tracking
projects from engineering design to construction, ensuring timely
delivery and successful turn-up of services. Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain project schedules for ABDG, Yavapai, and BAU
builds, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines.
Coordinate all project activities, ensuring that deadlines are met
and resources are effectively utilized. Work closely with various
departments, including Design, Engineering, Construction, Network
Operations Center (NOC), and Sales, to facilitate seamless project
execution. Act as the primary point of contact among stakeholders,
ensuring clear communication of progress, expectations, and
requirements. Manage relationships with vendors and contractors
involved in project execution, ensuring adherence to quality
standards, budget constraints, and timelines. Conduct regular
meetings with vendors to discuss project status, address any
issues, and implement corrective actions as necessary. Track all
phases of projects from engineering through construction,
maintaining comprehensive documentation and project records.
Prepare and present project status reports to management and
stakeholders, identifying risks and proposing solutions to keep
projects on track. Collaborate with the NOC and Sales teams to
ensure the successful turn-up of services for clients, conducting
necessary testing and validation. Monitor service delivery
timelines and proactively address any challenges that may impact
customer experience. Identify potential project risks and develop
mitigation strategies to address them. Ensure compliance with
safety and regulatory requirements throughout the project
lifecycle. Recommend process improvements based on project feedback
and lessons learned to enhance project efficiency and
effectiveness. Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and
best practices in project management and engineering.
Qualifications: Proven experience in managing infrastructure
projects, with a focus on fiber optics network construction and
deployment. Strong project management skills, with a minimum of 5
years of experience in overseeing large-scale construction
projects. Demonstrated expertise in project planning, budgeting,
scheduling, and resource allocation. Knowledge of best practices in
D&E, construction management, and technology. Experience and
knowledge of data management and dashboard tools including PowerBI.
Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills to
effectively collaborate with internal teams, stakeholders, and
external partners. Proficient in project management tools,
software, and systems for tracking project progress and
performance. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment,
prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing project requirements. NOTE:
