from you. Job Information Barrow Brain and Spine is hiring a
motivated Physical Therapist to work in a growing outpatient
clinic. We are a team of Physical Therapist that along with our
experienced team of Physical Therapy Technicians work closely with
the Neurosurgeons and Physiatrists to aid our patients in achieving
the best possible outcomes. Our referrals consist of primarily
orthopedic spine patients who are being treated either
conservatively or post-surgically by the physician. We place a very
high value on manual therapy and participate in weekly clinical
in-service to continue to build therapist skills. We place the
highest importance on patient outcomes and are looking for a
Physical Therapist who is equally committed to the highest quality
of patient care. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Plans and
administers medically prescribed physical therapy treatment for
patients suffering from injuries, or muscle, nerve, joint and bone
diseases, to restore function, relieve pain, and prevent
disability. Reviews physician's referral (prescription) and
patient's condition and medical records to determine physical
therapy treatment required. Tests and measures patient's strength,
motor development, sensory perception, functional capacity, and
respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and records findings to
develop or revise treatment programs. Plans and prepares written
treatment program based on evaluation of patient data. Instructs,
motivates, and assists patients to perform various physical
activities, such as ambulatory functional activities, daily living
activities, and in use of assistant and supportive devices, such as
crutches, canes, and prostheses. Administers treatments involving
application of physical agents, using equipment, such as
hydrotherapy tanks and whirlpool baths, moist packs, ultraviolet
and infrared lamps, and ultrasound machines. Evaluates effects of
treatment at various stages and adjusts treatments to achieve
maximum benefit. Monitors use of electronic modalities and the DRX
machine. Administers traction to relieve pain, using traction
equipment. Records treatment, response, and progress in patient's
chart or enters information into computer. Instructs patient and
family in treatment procedures to be continued at home. Evaluates,
fits, and adjusts prosthetic and orthotic devices and recommends
modification to Orthotics. Confers with physician and other
practitioners to obtain additional patient information, suggests
revisions in treatment program, and integrates physical therapy
treatment with other aspects of patient's health care. May plan and
conduct lectures and training programs on physical therapy and
related topics for medical staff, students, and community groups.
Fosters the success of the BBBS Compliance program. Maintains
knowledge of and complies with established policies and procedures.
Participates in professional development activities and maintains
professional affiliations. Maintains confidentiality regarding both
patient and staff meetings and participates in special committees.
Other duties assigned. Qualifications Reports to work regularly
without undue tardiness. Maintains positive attitude and
demonstrates the utmost in professionalism at all times. Dresses
appropriately and professionally Works independently, without
direct supervision Completes work accurately and in a timely
manner. Excellent oral, written & telephone communication, along
with tact, diplomacy, and a strong customer service orientation.
Prioritizes work activities and accepts multiple job duties.
Maintains effective working relationships with physicians,
administration and other staff members. Education& Experience
Certified as a physical therapist. Knowledge of the information and
techniques needed to diagnose and treat human injuries, diseases,
and deformities. This includes symptoms, treatment alternatives,
drug properties and interactions, and preventive health-care
measures. 1-2 years’ experience managing as a physical therapist.
