Registered Nurse (RN) | Correctional Location: Eloy, AZ Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,738 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 6 Weeks Start Date: 3/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Registered Nurse Duration: 6 weeks initial duration - potential to extend Shift: Days Hours per Shift: 36.00 Experience: One (1) year of professional nursing experience preferred License: Must possess current licensure in the state of employment Certifications: A valid driver's license required Description: The Registered Nurse (RN) plans and provides comprehensive nursing care including executing Licensed Independent Provider’s orders, dispensing and administering medications, and assisting Licensed Independent Providers in examinations and treatment of patients. Applies nursing and supervisory techniques required in the care, treatment, and referrals of inmates/residents. Performs all technical and clinical procedures within the scope of education and licensure. Attends sick call with the physician to see inmates/residents. Prepares a list of inmates/residents to be examined and the examining room and equipment. Operates pill call, dispenses medication, and documents as required by applicable policies and/or procedures. Communicates with Licensed Independent Providers for medication and treatment orders or other emergencies. Examines and assesses new inmates/residents with illnesses or injuries or inmates/residents who become ill or injured. Refers inmates/residents to the emergency room or other appropriate healthcare facility as required by their condition. Performs emergency procedures as needed and notifies Licensed Independent Provider for treatment orders. Assists in coordinating professional medical services provided by contract personnel and addresses their needs. Monitors inpatient hospitalizations for early releases whenever appropriate. Provides guidance, supervision, and monitoring of nursing care provided by licensed vocational or practical nursing staff and non-licensed medical staff. Maintains a good working relationship with facility staff, nursing staff, contract providers, and outside provider agencies. Utilizes established corporate, facility, and correctional policies and procedures when making decisions, while using sound independent judgment in responsibilities and duties. Evaluates the provision of medical services to prevent the inappropriate use or duplication of those services. Maintains absolute security and confidentiality of all medical records. Assists with the review of medical files to ensure all provided services are documented. Monitors all potential catastrophic illnesses closely. Audits pharmacy use for adherence to formulary, as directed, or required. Complies with all applicable pharmacy laws, especially those covering controlled substances. Observes and records inmate/resident behavior. Inspects the medical unit for items that could be used as contraband and securely stores or safely disposes of supplies and equipment. Provides health counseling and health education on an individual or group basis as required. Assists in preparing and maintaining a variety of standard narrative, statistical, summary, and operational records, reports, and logs using appropriate grammar. Processes all reports and documents in a timely manner. Reads, analyzes, comprehends, and interprets medical and technical procedures, governmental regulations, and legal and non-legal documents. Reviews, processes, and responds to lawsuits and attends court hearings when necessary. Facilitates the accreditation of the medical program by providing the required level of efficiency and approved medical services. Prepares and disseminates safety and accident reports as required by policies and procedures. Takes appropriate action in cases of serious and unusual incidents and emergencies.
