Speech Language Pathologist Location: Goodyear, AZ Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $1,639 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/17/2026 About the Position Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist Profession: Therapy/Rehabilitation Specialty: Acute Care Hospital Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year in the specialty required License: State license required in hand at the time of submission Certifications: BLS, MBSImP required Must-Have: State license, 1 year of experience, ability to work independently Description: Speech Language Pathologist needed for inpatient and outpatient setting. Responsibilities include working with patients recovering from oncology-related surgery. This role involves assessing swallowing capabilities, oxygen levels, and breathing post-surgery. Provide cognitive rehabilitation assessments, mainly for chemotherapy-related issues. Must perform modified barium swallow studies, interpret results, and communicate findings to patients. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, including dieticians, is essential for treatment planning. Average patient load is 6 to 9 per day. The schedule consists of three 8-hour shifts, with potential for additional shifts as needed. Candidates should have experience with acute care, adult outpatient settings, and managing medically compromised patients. Skills in areas such as dysphagia, cognitive and communicative disorders, and alternative communication devices are required. Knowledge of conducting modified barium swallow studies and coordinating diet upgrades is essential. Successful candidates will be working independently most of the time. Experience in an acute care environment and familiarity with Epic documentation is preferred. Certifications such as CCC-SLP and FEES are preferred, though not required.
