to find a qualified Neuro ICU RN in Phoenix, Arizona, 85013! Job
Title: Registered Nurse - Neuro ICU Profession: Registered Nurse
Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12 hours Hours per
Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: 2 years minimum in ICU
License: Yes, BSN required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have:
Level 1 trauma experience. EVD experience. Strong neuro assessment
skills and ICP monitoring experience. No first-time travelers.
Description: The unit requires nurses to have Level 1 trauma
experience. Candidates must have experience with EVDs. Client
pre-screens candidates, and if clinical recommends, an auto offer
is given. Candidates are required to pass a specific exam prior to
accepting the position. Failure to pass the exam twice results in a
6-month do-not-use status. Candidates must have their own vehicles.
Natural hair color and no facial piercings are required. Men must
be clean shaven for a fit test. A pass/fail exam occurs on the
first day of orientation. All nurses are expected to complete SIM
Lab training for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing
changes. Participation in lifts, restraints, and wound care
education is also required. Candidates should have strong
competencies in maintaining sterile fields. Common patient
diagnoses include neurological conditions requiring critical care.
The hospital performs various intricate neurosurgical procedures.
Staff may be required to float between all ICU floors and Tele
Units. The typical patient load on Tele Units is 4:1. The
cancellation policy allows the hospital to cancel up to 4 shifts
per 13-week assignment. Charting is done using Cerner. Nurses must
have strong neuro assessment skills and experience in ICP
