Job Description:
Contract (mandatory): 03 Months (Possibilities of Contract
Extension) Key Skills (mandatory): Microstation, SmartSketch, S3D,
SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams
(P&IDs) Small Description: The Control Systems Designer will
provide operational supervision and technical guidance in the
design and drafting of control systems, ensuring compliance with
engineering standards and project requirements. The role requires
proficiency in various design software and experience in reviewing
P&IDs, as well as the ability to produce detailed design
documents independently. Job Responsibilities: Provide operational
supervision and technical guidance to designers and drafters.
Determine staffing needs and schedules to meet work requirements.
Prepare layouts, study drawings, detailed design 2-D and 3-D CAD
models, and construction drawings. Support development of work
plans and schedules, including estimates for material quantities
and design deliverables. Supervise preparation of material
requisitions and bid evaluations. Monitor work for compliance with
applicable codes and design standards. Prepare design and drafting
procedures to standardize design efforts. Coordinate jobsite visits
to resolve problems and interpret drawings. Review or define
engineering scope changes for project management. Endorse or
prepare reports of work progress. Maintain up-to-date skills in
Standard Application Programs (SAPs). Organize and direct
on-the-job training for assigned personnel. Conduct annual
performance reviews and career development discussions. Establish
and maintain communication with project engineers and
administrative personnel. Consult with equipment suppliers and
technical specialists as directed. Responsible for assigned
activities within an engineering or design discipline. Apply broad
knowledge of engineering principles to prepare complex designs.
Make independent decisions concerning discipline-related problems.
Represent the discipline on the project and with clients to resolve
technical questions. Skills: Proficiency in Microstation,
SmartSketch, S3D, and SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI). Ability to
review P&IDs and produce instrument location plans, wiring and
loop diagrams, and installation details. Experience in modeling
instruments and junction boxes using S3D. Knowledge of
international design standards including IEC and NFPA 70. Ability
to develop innovative ideas to reduce project total installed costs
(TIC). Experience in reviewing complex vendor packages and
preparing estimated quantities and job hour estimates. Previous
experience as Design Supervisor/Lead Designer on FEEDs or Project
Proposals. Qualification: Specialized courses in drafting, design,
and engineering practices, or a recognized degree in a job-related
engineering or scientific discipline. Extensive experience in
design and drafting, with personnel administration experience.
Broad knowledge of design techniques, engineering drawings, and
graphic arts. Knowledge of engineering and construction materials
related to design responsibilities. Familiarity with industry and
regulatory standards, design criteria, and codes relevant to the
discipline. Specific experience in planning and executing
greenfield or brownfield projects in various market segments,
including natural gas processing, petrochemicals, and renewable
energy. Demonstrated skill in organizing and supervising design
efforts.
