We have been reporting on our environmental sustainability strategy and goals since 2015 and we believe in robust, transparent reporting and disclosures. What You'll Do

The Chief sustainability office is focused on a holistic environmental strategy, helping our customers and partners meet their sustainability goals, supporting a circular economy, driving key environmental sustainability initiatives, and measuring and reporting our progress towards our public goals and supporting innovative technologies and initiatives to help mitigate the impact of climate change for both people and the planet.

As a Senior Manager within Cisco's Chief Sustainability Office, you will:

  • Work cross-functionally with many teams helping to track and report on our public goals and support environmental sustainability governance
  • Research key trends, understand best practices and create recommendations.
  • Support scenario modeling, creation of internal and external targets, reporting to key governing bodies, environmentally focused public disclosures
  • Manage and track key decisions, quarterly progress plans and actions
  • Research and share best practices and recommendations by conduct benchmarking and aligning to environmental standards and frameworks
  • Support the CSO's external communications process, data accuracy and claims and targeted ESG indices and indexes

    Someone who is passionate about leading our Reporting and Governance team through the Cisco Chief Sustainability Office. Your background and experience are in multiple areas such as research, statistics, strategy, CSR / ESG and thought leadership. You also love focusing on work that can truly make a difference for our people and planet and grateful work for a company with a purpose of helping to create an inclusive future for all.

    Our Minimum Qualifications for this Role

    • 5+ years professional experience in environmental sustainability strategy, metrics, reporting, assurance, and disclosures in a corporate environment
    • Strong knowledge of environmental sustainability reporting frameworks such as GRI, SASB, and Environmental Sustainability / ESG indices (e.g., CDP, S&P Global), reporting requirements (e.g., CSRD, ISSB) and environmental data and methodology standards (e.g., GHG protocol). Also, experience and knowledge of metrics creation, external assurance and data claims, and tracking and reporting on public goals.
    • Strong analytic skills required
    • Background in metrics creation and KPI / success metrics and data targets
    • Business understanding- ability to translate data and insights into meaning and recommendations based on the context and strategy of the business
    • Experience with climate risk and opportunity modeling and reporting
    • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively
    • Experience working on complex initiatives with cross-functional teams and stewarding large group of diverse stakeholders
    • Knowledge of environmental sustainability regulations and requirements

      • Experience running and scoping evaluation and research projects especially as related to environmental sustainability
      • Communicating complex analysis into actionable insights
      • Experience with double materiality process, analysis, and scoring as it pertains to environmental sustainability prioritization and disclosures
      • Experience and expertise in: Strategy, impact measurement, desk research, qualitative & quantitative data collection
      • Knowledge and experience with data analysis programs (e.g., SPSS / SAS)

        When available, the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hire, full-time salaries in U.S. and/or Canada locations, not including equity or benefits. For non-sales roles the hiring ranges reflect base salary only; employees are also eligible to receive annual bonuses. Hiring ranges for sales positions include base and incentive compensation target. Individual pay is determined by the candidate's hiring location and additional factors, including but not limited to skillset, experience, and relevant education, certifications, or training. Applicants may not be eligible for the full salary range based on their U.S. or Canada hiring location. The recruiter can share more details about compensation for the role in your location during the hiring process.

        U.S. employees have access to quality medical, dental and vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with a Cisco matching contribution, short and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance and numerous wellbeing offerings. Employees receive up to twelve paid holidays per calendar year, which includes one floating holiday, plus a day off for their birthday. Employees accrue up to 20 days of Paid Time Off (PTO) each year and have access to paid time away to deal with critical or emergency issues without tapping into their PTO. We offer additional paid time to volunteer and give back to the community. Employees are also able to purchase company stock through our Employee Stock Purchase Program.

        Employees on sales plans earn performance-based incentive pay on top of their base salary, which is split between quota and non-quota components. For quota-based incentive pay, Cisco typically pays as follows:

        .75% of incentive target for each 1% of revenue attainment up to 50% of quota;

        1.5% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 50% and 75%;

        1% of incentive target for each 1% of attainment between 75% and 100%; and once performance exceeds 100% attainment, incentive rates are at or above 1% for each 1% of attainment with no cap on incentive compensation.

        For non-quota-based sales performance elements such as strategic sales objectives, Cisco may pay up to 125% of target. Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
